I'm super new here and just trying to figure things out. My latest headache is marking my quilt tops before I start quilting.
I've been trying to use Crayola Washable markers, but it's a real struggle getting lines to actually show up clearly and consistently!
What colors do you seasoned quilters use most for marking? Some just seem to disappear, while others are okay.
I'm totally afraid to even touch the black, brown, or red ones, even though they'd show up great.
Do those really wash out completely, even if you iron over them by accident? (That's my biggest fear!)
I've tried chalk on darker fabrics, and yeah, it shows, but the line is so thick, and it's useless on white, so I'm constantly switching tools. Have any of you had luck with the yellow and orange Crayolas?
I know the greens and blues work somewhat, but you can't buy a whole pack of just those! Any tips for getting a nice, fine line with them?
Also, are there any other beginner friendly marking tools I should look at for different fabric colors, other brand maybe?
Thanks a million for any tips for a total beginner!
